Developed by Dr. Elizabeth Boham, a functional medicine practitioner and advocate for integrative health, this educational program offers a whole-person, evidence-informed approach to supporting breast health. Designed for clinicians, the course emphasizes how to help patients create internal balance using personalized, lifestyle-based strategies.
This 6-week bootcamp will explore physiological and environmental factors associated with breast health, including insulin sensitivity, systemic inflammation, gut health, hormone metabolism, and toxin exposure. The course is intended for providers supporting patients who are proactive about breast health or navigating wellness after a diagnosis.
Participants will:
-
Learn to identify patterns in a patient’s history and functional medicine matrix that may be relevant to breast health.
-
Explore biomarkers in blood, stool, and hormone metabolism testing that may offer insight into a patient’s overall wellness.
-
Understand how environmental exposures may impact physiological systems and discuss strategies that support detoxification pathways.
-
Review how genetic predispositions can interact with lifestyle factors, and how to support gene expression for health promotion.
-
Gain confidence in applying functional medicine principles to support immune function, metabolic balance, and detoxification.
By the end of this course, practitioners will have a practical framework to help patients make informed decisions and take supportive steps for breast health using individualized care approaches.
